It’s trancing season in our house. Duncan has a selection of bushes in the garden that he likes to trance under. He shakes, walks really slowly or stands and rocks backwards and forwards with his tongue poking in and out.
30 mins easily lost to each bush in a day.
Very funny to watch.

What's generally the lifespan of a staffie?
Aunts dog is now at least 13, slowing down a fair bit and a couple of lumpy cysts on her legs but not in any pain, still eating well and loving every one she meets.
I suspect she's at or very close to the end of her innings and has had a good one to say the least. Always been able to run/play/walk all day in a large garden which has helped I guess. This was her last year on the North Yorkshire railway.

Unfortunately I think you’re right. My partners black staffy (See below) recently passed around aged 13. She had cysts for years even had one removed that was quite large. However, suddenly she started losing weight rapidly and it wasn’t long then before she was put to sleep. My last one was 16 when we finally decided to let her rest. You'll o ow when it's time because they'll generally tell you, not walking, no interest in toys or food, just looking at you in a certain way.Aunts dog is now at least 13, slowing down a fair bit and a couple of lumpy cysts on her legs but not in any pain, still eating well and loving every one she meets.

Shes still playing with her ball and mini bike tyre she likes to pull with her teeth in a tug of war contest with anyone willing. (Usually for hours)..
Sleeping a lot more but still eating like a horse and sits right in front of you watching every morsel of any snack..
I hadn’t seen the picture when I replied. She still looks great. If she’s anything like the blue my partner it could be her joints as she looks quite stocky. Sleeping a lot more but still eating like a horse and sits right in front of you watching every morsel of any snack..
This is Milly. She’s a very similar age and they look so similar!
Good quality food and supplements make a hell of a difference.
We started giving Tinks glucosamine (sp?) in tablet form. Took a bit of effort as she Doesn't Like Tablets... But she was visibly a lot more agile within days.
Then we moved onto Tails.com on the recommendation of a friend. It was like giving her Essence De Puppy. No idea what they put in it but she seemed to regress back... Probably cocaine or something.
She's now nearly 17 and still thinks she is made of rubber, but the food choice has made a huge difference to her energy and the way she looks. I should imagine any of the high quality food suppliers would do the same

She might have a couple more years yet then! That's good :-)
I'm mildly allergic to dogs and being close to Blue makes me come out in lumps /watering eyes occasionally but she loves me to bits and will not leave me alone bless her. Got to be the most loving dogs I've ever known. And the most patient waiting for titbits...
