Jumping Danios?

I recently got a 58L Aquarium which is unheated (around 20 degrees) with some White Cloud Mountain Minnows. I want to get some Danios but am worried about their reputation for being jumpers.

To do any maintenance other than feeding, I need to remove the hood. Does anyone have experience with Danios? How justified is their reputation? I'd probably have 6 or 7 in the tank.

I kept Zebra Danios a few years ago - never had any of them jump out of the tank (the swordtails certainly tried though!)

I would be more concerned about them nipping the fins of the minnows, but they do seem to mix fine in most cases.
