Only just noticed this post, so sorry for the late response from a proud Mal dad.

Yes, I think they are still a relatively rare breed in the UK, but definitely getting more popular as people realise they are the most fantastic and versatile dogs.

Whilst their highly effective use by the military special forces makes all the headlines, this story really shows the flip side of the coin and how sensitive they can be:

Our friend's Italian Spinonne. He's virtually blind, has seizures, is covered in lumps and riddled with arthritis. Basically an At-At now!

Sweet old (ish) boy, lost some weight now so down from 80+ kg to about 70.
