Been in a holiday cottage since Saturday. That evening, we had the first visit from a European Hornet.

Dispatched fairly quickly, that's that then.

Sunday night, another solitary visitor. Trapped & dispatched (for science). Two in two days though, bit odd.

Tonight, a mother of a specimen. Again, trapped & dispatched.

That's three in three days, only three, at roughly the same time each evening. Beginning to feel a bit like the 21st Foot & Mouth in Zulu, being probed by a vastly superior force.

Should we circle the wagons? Is all Hornety hell about to buzz down upon us?

To coin more Burton, "slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against us…”

Shut the curtains or turn your lights off. They're harmless enough, just curious.
