Our cat has Cancer, now what?
Discussion
Our little one eyed Greek princess has a very similar to last time lump on her lower belly. It seems it may be back, praying not so. If anyone doesn't deserve it, it's her. As per the PH thread, Cancer is a fking fker. Huge fingers crossed at this end She's made of tough stuff, stay strong baby girl.
I have lost several pets to cancer, and am very sorry to hear your news. My usual conversation with our vet is whether any additional treatment would provide a comfortable and happy life or just a diminished and painful one. This is similar to a choice I would make for myself. It is very hard to say goodbye to a loyal old companion. I do hope you get some good results.

You never said what type of cancer it is? do you know?
Apologies, only just seen this. Soft tissue sarcoma, AKA skin cancer. Apparently it's quite a rare strain. Keeping fingers crossed that the lump is scar tissue, or infected scar tissue, rather than the big C, S fears it feels exactly like what she found last time, but only time will tell. Finances are quite strained (think covid) but we do need to get her to the vets ASAP. S is waiting for payday, within this week.

Maybe worth seeing a herbal vet, to see if there's anything they can offer. Try AP Vets see if they can help.Finances are quite strained (think covid) but we do need to get her to the vets ASAP. S is waiting for payday, within this week.

Yes they are, but it may be by referral only.
No idea if theres any kind of medicine for your cats type of cancer but worth contacting them.
If they are no help you can try somewhere else that is hopefully closer to your location.

To conclude this thread. Today we have (very) sadly said goodbye to our lovely little Greek one eyed girl, Callia. Over the weekend She went rapidly downhill, not touching her food at times, even tuna in Brine only tempted a few mouthfuls eaten. By this morning the purrs when stroking her were getting less frequent, and the decision was made. She passed very peacefully at the vets whilst receiving a fuss, a small silver lining.
Bye bye Princess. Gutted, but it was the only kind option.
And her front of the chair, her 'sister' behind.
