Otto turned one on Friday.

Out on a windy beach walk today

A far cry from this little cutie

Single minded sniffing machine.

First and last. 15 years in between.

And thousands in between. Locke has gone to sleep today.

So sorry Gretchen.

Every photo I have seen of him he looked such a lovely boy.

What with your father going last year you must be going through a tough time.

Keep your head up.

That third photo is fabulous, btw

Oh no, a PH ACG&S legend has left frown

I'm so, so sorry. What a long and wonderful life, though.

Run free at the Bridge, Locke and enjoy the sunshine.

Locke was always the terror. Washing off the line his favourite. Daddy being here had given him an extra lease and he taught him dog ways. Daddy is asleep in his spot on the sofa right now. Flowers have been left at my door. The house, despite two other dogs and five cats, feels so quiet and empty. He was a big oaf to the end. Having shared a bath with Daddy on Friday he was soon filthy again. He passed eating biscuit treats and although the vet said he’d gone his nose was still twitching on my lap as if he wanted one more treat. Thank you all.

So sorry to hear that Gretchen, sounds like he went peacefully and even while eating treats which I'm sure he enjoyed.

Seems like he had a great life with you and the other animals and I loved the bromance with him and Daddy, hope Daddy is taking it well, as Pesty said extra hugs for him too.

Daddy came on the school run this morning with me (by car) I found some treats on the seat which set me off again. He keeps sniffing/looking for Locke in the places he’d be sleeping, he has one of his blankets and snuggled up inside it last night.

The past few weeks Daddy had properly been lying under Locke under his chin a lot, but also spending time cuddled up with Cookie developing a stronger bond. Unfortunately Locke’s back legs had completely given up, his head and front end still being typical Lab! The last few months have been horrific losing my Dad and selfishly I wanted one last Christmas with my ‘family’.

They know these animals. One of my Queen cats Frida even sat on my lap last night (this is rare). I’ll be bringing Daddy in to work soon. I hope he’s now settled enough in my home that this doesn’t have a detrimental effect.

Hope everyone’s family members are safe and well. Hugs to all.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss and there are not sufficient words to express my sympathies to you and your family.

Few of Rocco over Christmas/New Year that I forgot to post, really should use my proper camera more rather than the work phone...

I would recommend getting your dogs a big teddy like this, it was my wife's idea when we seen it in a shop and I thought it was a silly one, but Rocco loves his teddy, regularly lies on its lap/legs when human laps/legs aren't available, when we are out its his usual spot to sleep and I like to think it somehow keeps him company when we aren't home, downside is we now have it pretty much permanently sitting on the sofa, but as he loves it so much its fine biggrin
