Thanks. Went really well actually, and given us things to work on.
Can i ask what you need to do/change?

Teddy's worse trait, jumping up when he's excited, we were told to concentrate on one comand, something he does well, and keep saying it.
He can only do one thing at a time, so will, with practice do it.

So we use sit, and when he goes to jump up, to greet, we just repeat it.

Slowly over the weeks and months, it's gone from saying it 50+ times, to maybe 3 or 4 and him actually doing it
The main issue we have with Sid is his behaviour towards other dogs, and him ignoring us. Need to work on eye contact, and getting Sid to focus on us. Always stick with key words on commands, as often we mix them up and it becomes white noise to him.

Jumping up is an issue with have the younger one. He gets over excited and jumps up at people. Haven’t managed to work on that yet.

laugh
The eye contact thing isn't really advised these days, reason being that lots of dogs struggle with eye contact (it is not a natural behaviour for a dog, in dog terms it's confrontational to prolong eye contact). Also, asking him to remain looking at you while the thing he is concerned with is still near is pretty hard - he might find it easier if you first move him away from the dog that's worrying him smile

Asking for a behaviour that the dog finds easy instead of jumping is a good tactic, however they do bore of this so keep teaching new skills (eg down, give paw, etc etc) so you have a little repertoire of tricks - and always always reward smile

So Arch had to go to the vets today to remove a growth on his gum that was forever bleeding. The vet said it would also mean he’d lose a tooth as well. Anyways, the vet carried out two successful operations today: one to remove the growth and tooth and one to remove £580 for the privilege.

It’s not just Arch who’s not quite himself at the moment…
Hope you’re both doing ok, more like one operation and one dry bumming ?
Yup, just about sums it up!

yikesrofl
Honestly I think that’s perfectly reasonable! My Dax had 5 teeth out last week and it was £800 - running a practice and performing surgery is not cheap!!
😊

TigerLily and Meeko are getting on well

Took Meeko to the beach on Wednesday, which was his first time. He thoroughly enjoyed himself.

I'm so pleased to hear that all three of them have settled. Always a worry when you add to the 'pack', but this sounds like it was meant to be!

Another Saturday at the cricket. Poor Lila bristles every time she’s spies movement of a ball.

Gorgeous! My lab particularly like snuggling up to my son or daughter’s sock, especially if they’re really ripe.

Lovely morning this morning at Litton Reservoirs. There was a water vole in those reeds that Mouse is mostly into.
Oscar was contemplating how he could get to the ducks in the distance
