Been a sad couple of days after one of my daughters friends horses had to get put to sleep.

I don't mind saying I was a wreck. Even more so the family who owned her.

These animals get under our skin!

I hear you Dave, condolences.
Thanks. It sounds mercenary but life goes on.

The dotta has finally Started to get her mojo back after a long spell of doubt after a few Falls. Of course this means new gear, more donations to the le mieux foundation and so on.

A recent clip and short back and sides has revealed some dapples we never knew were there. Transformer horse.

They will be recession proof. No matter the economy horses will always be well cared for.

They recently squashed a business selling the small toy horses that resembled theirs. They have the time and resources to protect their IP too. As would any company I suppose.

The horse equivalent of a super bike stoppie. Only at least you know a bike will do exactly As you tell it whereas these things just turn into tigger.

For yourself or to rent out to liveries etc?

Never underestimate how entitled, bhy, argumentative, and downright unreasonable horsey women can be if they're paying for the privilege! One person's horse doesn't get on with the other one, someone parks in "the wrong place", leaves their hay net out, or doesn't sweep the yard "properly", suddenly you need 25 acres to keep them far enough apart.
I could not have summarised the private livery world better. Bravo.

So sorry to read this mate. They become a part of you and although I swear at the cost and time they consume I don’t know if I could place myself without them.

Take solace in the fact he’s fine, where ever he is.

We went to the Royal Highland Show at the weekend and you think you are doing reasonably well until you see these horses that compete. Some of the top show jumping horses from some of the best bloodlines with well into 6 figure price ranges.

It’s clear they are very professional though. Some of them clearing rounds of jumps at 1.6m high. The top rider on the day got £8k and the runners up got £5k if I recall.

Then you spot the whole place is sponsored by coutts private banking and wealth management. There were private jets flying in and out of Edinburgh airport and some competitors arriving by chopper. Different world.

And yes I did add to the share price of LM once again. Sigh.

ROFL, this did make me laugh. Have seen :

The Vet - livery who thinks they are a vet. But are not.
The st Stirrer - has no life, seems to exist to create strife and misery amount others.
The Treat Thief - still trying to find this one, they exist as the depleting treats arent all going to horses. At least now our ones.
The 5* Eventer / BS'r - really only did 2* but likes to tell everyone their riding faults and critiques on a whim

The keep 25 acres apart is soooo true, last summer was like a revolving door of livery exits on some bad behaviour. Been quite blissful since, the yard always full and the waiting list growing.

Thanks for the offers of a steer on owning/running, if I get serious on this will take up the offers for sure !
DO i win a prize if i can pin all of them in one person? With the exception of the treats. There is a military like protection racket around these. Private security firms should recruit at livery yards.

Also, i'm politely requesting you get out of my head. I had said NOTHING about the 17th to the daughter and have just got a text (she is upstairs, naturally): "can i do the jump Day at Turlood?

So now i am certain i'm searching for another horsebox hire. I'd be cheaper just buying one.

Brilliant. Are you north or south of the border?

Shocks, transport let us down so we won’t be competing on the 17th anymore but may come to spectate. Planning to do the EK show though.

The dotta had a jumping leason tonight and very nearly
Came a cropper. Winded herself and got a hell of a fright but she soldiered on.

Looking good!

We are shopping course horse number 2 and I can’t wait. I’ve spent a fortune on pre sales vetting only for the horse to be a mechanical disaster or to discover it has been drugged as it’s insane most of the time…

We continue…

Someone seems to have replaced your horse with a Giraffe who is wearing a horses head mask...

In other news we have finally found another steed! Pre-Vetting done and a few "behavioral" things we need to manage that seem to be common in Thoroughbreds but here we go again!

My bank account might as well just be linked to Le Mieux accounts.

Complete kit. He has a custom saddle that’s been fitted for his shape. The biggest challenge with the is one being a thoroughbred will be keeping weight ON him as well as the usual quirks for this breed.

He is rapid though, ex racer but wasn’t quick enough to place high enough so retired young. It’s amazing how much info you can find when they are properly documented and maintained.

As we go into winter I’m hoping the grass starts to slow down. The current horse is like a barrel and a whisker away from laminitis so we are managing that closely.
