Ha!

Unfortunately a 4 leaf clover was needed. Dressage was good, show jumping she knocked a fence down and XC went the wrong way as she hadn't had time to walk the course!!

Well apart from the wrong turns that sounds like it could have gone worse - better 'luck' next time (ie, luck being 'when preparation meets opportunity' apparently?) but I don't think you'll need it.

Fantastic photos!

Wee update from up here, daughter has her new cob, settled well then went mental on spring grass. Ensuing colic episode and eye-watering vet bill.

He is a fantastic beast if somewhat greedy !

Been a sad couple of days after one of my daughters friends horses had to get put to sleep.

I don't mind saying I was a wreck. Even more so the family who owned her.

These animals get under our skin!

Thanks. It sounds mercenary but life goes on.

The dotta has finally Started to get her mojo back after a long spell of doubt after a few Falls. Of course this means new gear, more donations to the le mieux foundation and so on.

A recent clip and short back and sides has revealed some dapples we never knew were there. Transformer horse.

Sorry to hear that Davie
Yes they get under your skin and they are so engaging and interactive. Learning to read their language is tricky but worth the effort

Ours are on overnight turnout but given Fridays heat, we may bring them in for the day as we don't have a lot of shade

Great pic of the nag, Mhairi goes through the same, so much so she stopped counting falls. Competition weekend looms once more, the Le Mieux deliveries flow in.... just read their accounts, 100% YoY 2021 v 2020. The cup floweth o'er....

Was looking to see if there was an "angle" to help their business grow through investing in them which is not another online order from the daughtersmile looks like they took some investment last year to grow and it's doing mighty fine. Given the amount of competitions back on I suspect 2022/23 will be a bumper year

They will be recession proof. No matter the economy horses will always be well cared for.

They recently squashed a business selling the small toy horses that resembled theirs. They have the time and resources to protect their IP too. As would any company I suppose.

Continuing the theme, our Welsh D thinks he a pogo stick, daughter describes him as a spicey dragon and no recollection of this buck on her round at the weekend !

The horse equivalent of a super bike stoppie. Only at least you know a bike will do exactly As you tell it whereas these things just turn into tigger.

That looks like the horse is having a great time to me. There is no head down "dump them off" but ears pricked .... looks like great fun!!!

Nice idea for a thread, I'm another who's kept Le Mieux afloat over the years lol

This is my Goddaughter on her way to her first clear round, sadly A levels and boys have taken competition off her radar recently and I'm rather surprised how much I miss it!
Not so sure I miss the fuel bills from towing the nag everywhere or the aformentioned "must-haves" bills and I definitely don't miss the tonnes of horse apples that I got roped into helping her shift seemingly every week lol

It's a pricy hobby that's for sure but there are far worse things they could be spending their time doing!

I do love it, the cost less so, we have two at the moment though ISH is up for sale so she can focus on BE with the Welsh D

Lorry, events costs, fuel tank use less than our Iveco !! I do like the events, the driving and early morning, loading, unloading and unpaid stable hand does add to this.

I must be going mad, started looking at yards / land to buy, now I'm no longer chained to a desk and travelling for work it's very tempting though I'm entirely clueless about what it entails other than what i see on my visits over the past few years. Pretty sure owing one would be ruinous.
