Pond owners and duckweed

I think i have done every damn 'deterrent' available but everyone is no better than snake oil, and at 25.00 a pop with the instructions keep at it i could be well into three figure for sod all result
I dont mind 'netting it out, but it takes ages

would a pond skimmer be man enough, ( any suggestions) or is there a top surface vacuum that is on the market, all those i have seen advertise just do the bottom detritus that settles
