Another of our rescue... Any suggestions as to what hell he's made of is welcome.
Can't even do a DNA test as he's from Romania and they won't do romanian dogs for some reason. I'm guessing it's due to Ceau?escu and his program of systematization which meant most dogs got dumped at the time.
I have just adopted a 9 year old Staffy and an 8 year old black Lab. Only had them a few days, adopted from Foal Farm in Kent. Their owner was evicted sadly. Not had a Lab or a Staffy before, the Lab is great fun but does bark if she gets over excited, good guard dog though. Staffy super affectionate. They had lived with cats, and my elderly cat is getting along with them so far.
They have been neglected a bit, overweight and long claws. The Staffy had to be sedated for her claws to be cut. The good news is that their harnesses are already a bit too big, so they are losing weight.
They are on Butternut Box meals, they came with a weeks supply of Xmas dinner variety boy is it good stuff. Also feeding a salmon oil additive. Their pads were so soft as they had not been walked, but we are getting there slowly. They are a bonded pair. The rescue centre said it would be responsible for existing conditions, the lab possibly has a seed in its eye as it is inflamed and blown up a bit, and she has been on antibiotics. The Staffy just doesn't have enough leg strength for its current weight. All can be sorted.
They came with a months Petplan insurance, I kept the insurance running on the previous dog which did pay off in the end, any thoughts on which company to use if I decide to take insurance?

I've been reluctant to post here recently because I received this on an unrelated thread:

Strangely enough,it's because of you and one or two others that flood the thread with you're dog photos constantly,I've stopped going into the dog thread or contributing.
Yes I see it can be a nice place to visit but not when it's being used by a few the way it is.
Is this fair, is there too much Reginald on here?Yes I see it can be a nice place to visit but not when it's being used by a few the way it is.
No. There can never be enough of Reg or any other dogs on this thread. If you ever thought you’d maxed out on dog pics, post one more and it’ll still be at least one short. If anyone disagrees then they’ve no place here.
The reason that this by some considerable distance is the best thread on PH is because of the pics. Post as many of Reg as you have, and even then it won’t be enough.
