Yes, not quite sure how it happened. We had four then started fostering for a Rescue, all sighthounds. Of the seven we fostered we ended up keeping three, one of which was the deerhound. Most were severely traumatised and some had minor health issues. They took a lot of close attention to turn round, some quicker than others and of course you and they inevitably bond. When the Rescue found a home quickly, within 2-3 weeks, it wasn't too bad letting them go, although damp eyes and a lump in the throat every time. Longer than that and we found it very difficult so I don't think we're cut out for fostering and we're definitely full now! We're lucky to have a lot of secure outside space so it's not as difficult to manage them as you might imagine.
