We had a Ridgeback with arthritis in old age, affecting exercise, etc.

So tried CBD oil… I was sceptical to say the least but it made a massive difference to quality of life.

More recently we had a Dalmatian (allergic to steroids… vomit like chilli con carne..!!!) but had arthritis, again CBD oil (better quality about £60/100ml - from memory) plus half a paracetamol in the morning and evening meals and monthly hydro.

Hydro made a massive difference, but ‘faded’ after a few days… but the CBD made a big difference to normal day to day life.

The CBD wasn’t some ‘hippy lifestyle’ choice, more of ‘give it a go’ and see… couple of drops in food (so the bottle lasts quite a while).

I was very surprised by the results and you can’t overdose them with it. (Mrs has just chipped in… cheaper oil has more water, so you end up using it twice as quick or don’t actually see any difference… bit like Carling v Stella smile )

As mentioned above turmeric is another option, but we have never tried it.

Our 13yr old lab, with Arthritis and spondylitis, is on a 4 weekly Labrella jab along with daily dose of Synoquin. Seems to do the job.

Another vote for the monthly injections, we have a 13yo arthritic Westie. Cost is roughly £85/month.
