Unfortunately my amazing cat guard didn't work, as evidenced by the near cardiac arrest I suffered at 3am this morning when I woke to find one of them hanging out the widow
I can't have the windows closed in this weather, so can anyone think of a way I can have it open without them trying to get out, including when they're left here alone?
My Pogull keeps falling out of the bedroom window, cats bounce quite well and they do always fall the right way up (I have watched him do it!)
I came up with this somewhat more hardcore version earlier, on my other window with no shelves nearby
Tin foil is a very good way of making your cat act like he's just stepped on a landmine . Although I'm sure he would be ok from the fall, the problem is he'd run off and I would never see him again!
I do like the shelf idea though, I'll incorporate it into my design

We get rusty nails, where he finds them I've no idea.
He's pulling them out of the wall with his teeth in an escape attempt. We often get frogs and toads brought in to play with, once we had a goldfish. This morning I had the same starling twice. I rescued it and it seemed OK so I let it go, as it flew off the cat shot out of the catflap after it, 5 minutes later it's back inside so I had to let the cat have it as a light snack.

Mine once brought home a spoon I had an box from amazon up on the counter the other day while I was unpacking it, and unpacking the individual bits'n'bobs. Wasn't really paying attention to the box, apart from vaguely noting that it was swarming with cats, as they often do when there's something new, and thus either exciting or scary.
I then heard the crackle of tearing cellophane...at which point I remembered I'd included a catnip banana for them. Arse. Gone before I could get there. Rediscovered the next morning, dripping wet, on the bed.
Not seen it since, no idea where they've hidden it.
