As above,

If anyone in Brighton spots a fairly big (sort of as tall as a Newfoundland but slightly skinnier framed) golden dog with a black muzzle and ears on it's own, please let me know. She is wearing a collar which has an address in Southampton on it and a mobile number on it, however she is quite easily spooked by strangers, though is dog friendly. She escaped from my friend's house Saturday.

Cheers

Do you think you could send me some pics? I live in Brighton so happy to keep an eye out or put up posters if that helps. I hope they find the dog frown

Thank you ever so much. I will get the "wanted" poster and e-mail you a copy.

I have also been told that the dog is wary of men, so a female approaching her would be better as well, I thought I should add that.

Hope your friend finds her. Is she on Dogslost? If so I'll crosspost on a doggy forum with a link.

I will find out if she's on Dogslost. Frankly, the owner is so distraught that she even forgot to contact the Dog Warden. We did that today for her, and the police too.

Yes, she is also chipped. I hope that someone takes her to a vet ( we have been calling around vets in Brighton today as well ) when/if they find her.

Aww bless, I've looked on dogslost but the links are all over the place and it doesn't appear to be working well. She needs to be listed on there if she isn't already

No problem, they must be distraught. I will ask around as I have friends with dogs so may see something while out walking.

I've emailed you through your PH profile so you have my email address to send the poster to.

Hearing all the fireworks going off in Brighton, I feel so sorry for the lost dog, any news on her? The worst time of year to have a lost dog (not that there is a good time) I have emailed round the poster that you sent. Eta I think this is the dog lost link http://www.doglost.co.uk/Page.aspx?data=pzp8JrdCfx...

Not chipped, but he still runs pretty fast.

Wildsea - yes, that's her. Thank you for that, I guess they must have put her on there today (I sent a text last night asking if she was going to put her on Doglost, so I guess they did straight away). And thank you ever so much for all you guys have done.

Yes, I am very worried for her, one of my dogs was not happy about the fireworks tonight so I dread to think what a poor pooch would think if she is outside. I just hope someone has found her and at least taken her in.

As for chipped, no need, the acceleration is rather good (think of nearly greyhound speed over 2-300 yards) and the MPG is efficient enough.

Just to add, there have now been two sightings at the national trust woodland at the bottom of devils dyke near poynings (I have no idea where that is, but still). So that is at least something, she is likely to be alive (though the local rabbit population might not be faring so well).

I have spoken with my friend who works for the South downs trust, all eyes open (photos will help). I walk my hounds there too, hopefully we'll find her.

Thank you.

Heard today that a farmer in the area saw her this morning, so at least she is alive - having read the "run over a dog" thread I was getting really worried.
