Hi. As per title, during the night a cat keeps leaving me presents on my front path and occasionally on the front lawn. What is the best way of stopping this?

I'm not against them in any way, I love animals (admittedly I'm more of a dog person), but it's getting on my nerves a bit now, especially the ones on the path.

I won't be able to reply until later, as I'm off to work soon and I don't have access to the net whilst there.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

SuperSoaker aversion therapy.

Won't harm the cat and makes you feel better.

^ This, but with the Super Soaker filled with a blend of lemon juice and Tabasco Sauce.

The sport is trying to get a clean shot on it's bum. The lemon juice will make it's dot sting, which will force it to turn around and lick the area in question this then places the Tabasco on it's tongue and.........well I'm sure you can work out the rest.

Unusual behaviour for a cat, sounds like a fox to me. Generally a cat will bury its "gifts" rather than leaving them as markers.

Yes, I was thinking this today. It may be a fox I suppose.

The reason I thought it was a cat was because the neighbour over the road used to have three cats and one of them took a liking to my front lawn and used to hang out under a big bush that used to be up against the house (since removed). I used to find crap on the lawn then and assumed it was that cat.

She has since moved, so I kind of assumed another cat is maybe making it their territory now.

It's a greyie brown colour and kind of small (I'd say Terrior small), sometimes solid in shape and other times mushy.

Sorry to be so graphic, but it may be relevent. smile

I have the same problem on my gravel drive! A friend of mine told me to put orange and lemon peel down as they don't like citrus. Also spraying with a water pistol but I haven't seen it in action.....

Definitely fox, especially if it tapers at the end, and smells to high heaven if you disturb it, if you get my drift.

I've heard they do really smelly craps in obvious and inconvenient places.

Sounds like fox poo. We back onto open countryside & often find one of their 'gifts' on our lawn & your description is spot on.
Very different from the cats who usually bury or cover what they do.

I used to have a neighbour with 5 cats. They daily left their stuff on top of my lawn and flower beds, even stone paths. Several times saw them actually doing it. Some days you'd get 10-15 seperate deposits. I don't understand it because when I lived at home we had several cats and they all buried it in the soil and never saw any sign of it. Is this a recent trend with cats?
