Taking the niece to drive an R8 Saturday morning. A3/M25/M1 or A34 and cross country?

I understand M1 has some pretty heavy roadworks?

Definitely A34/M40/A43 - these are good fast roads, and far fewer lorries on Saturdays. Anything to avoid M25/M1, and the A34 route is marginally shorter.

Mind the speed traps on the A43.

as suggested A34, M40, A43, A45 (eastbound) very briefly and then back on the A43. about 3 hours at sensible speeds.

Unless its changed recently there is 1 camera on the A43 eastbound here : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Main+Road,Earls+Ba...

between that on slip and the pub.

Two on the return journey : one is just before the house on the south side of the road : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Main+Road,Earls+Ba...

The other one s just before the southern junction for Bilsworth : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Blisworth&hl=e...

All of them are pretty well signposted to be fair.

Did A34 route there and M25 back, both as easy as pie.

Great day out too recommend it to anyone. Even spotted an MX5 in the car park with a PH smilie on the back biggrinwavey
