Emirates and upgrades
Discussion
Hi guys.
I've got 130,000 skywards points. Need a break as not had one all this year so thinking 6 nights in Dubai week after next. Now I want to use the points to upgrade me, my wife and my 2 year old daughter from economy to business.
I looked at skywards and for flex ticket its 25,000 points one way to upgrade. But is it the same for a 2 year old?
Also can I upgrade using my skywards account my wife and daughter?
Any advice welcome
Thanks

Good luck with a 2 year old in Business, you wont be very popular
Done business class with her last year to Dubai when she was one. Generally people are ok with. You get the odd miserable git. I see your emirates traveller aswell, was saving my points for first class via a380 out of manchester next year. I fly 4-5 times a year to the far east on business. Usually fly from Birmingham on the 777 300ER which absolutely crap in business class and has no first class.
I see what skywards say but you are right 3 reward tickets not going to be easy. Might just end up buying a ticket for the wife and child in biz and upgrade myself from economy.
Good luck with that. Been emirates gold member for about 10 years and every time I try to make a reward booking is either ridiculous number of points or (more usually) no availability (in which case, they helpfully point out that I can buy a ticket for the same flight).
Been like this since they changed their earning and redemption policy last year (earn less, have to redeem more).
By contrast, with Virgin and Etihad I've always been able to get on flights with points when I've tried so don't think I'll be flying much with emirates next year

Thirded. Absolutely disgusted with Emirates' attitude on this, and from being our first-choice airline they've dropped well down...Been like this since they changed their earning and redemption policy last year (earn less, have to redeem more).
