Not sure where the best place is for this one...

I am planning to send some cheese to friends living on Grand Cayman as a christmas present (it's the one thing they miss & can't easily get hold of).

Can anyone give me a pointer on what the custom's implications will be? I don't want to send it and then have them need to pay a custom's charge?!

Thanks

Puggit

Well it's illegal to bring cheese in to the UK from non-EU countries, so I suspect that may well be the case for the Cayman Islands too: http://tinyurl.com/d5wevhw (link is to a PDF, but it's safe)

Have you thought about what your cheese might look (and smell...) like after a few days in a Caribbean mail system - with no refrigeration!
