righto,

i fancy a couple of weeks in central europe at the end of may - likely vienna, bratislava and budapest. i am trying to find a company who will charter me a small river cruiser/penichette type for a week in that general area. to sleep two but ideally larger as i like having space. preferably the danube and ideally a one way hire.

google isn't helping and i am amazed by that, amazing countryside seemingly ignored by the boating holiday companies!

hopefully the font of PH knowledge will point me in the right direction - any ideas guys?

Never been, but I always thought the Danube was a massive river heavily used by large cargo barges which clip along at a fair old place and take no prisoners. Which is maybe why boating companies avoid it. I'm sure there are more relaxing rivers to pootle along.

There are very few private boats that ply te Danube in the Vienna/Budapest strectch. The most common way to enjoy this river by boat is to book onto one of the river cruise boats that typically go for 1 week+, include smart accomodation and have bar restaurants on board. Great way to experience the Danube.
