Italy - relaxing week recommendations

Hi all, having visited the lakes last summer on a long driving holiday, the OH and I would like to return to Italy, but on a reasonably cheap (say £500 on accomodation each for a week) holiday near a beach.

We'd also like to be near a small town or area of interest so we can spend one or two days wandering around getting a bit of local culture.

We'd be flying from London if that makes a difference to locations.

So, anyone got any recommendations?

With a cheap airline to Treviso. Nice town, and beaches are not too far away.
