ryanair out of stansted..how long to allow?
Discussion
Just give yourself a couple of hours, then you'll not be rushing. It's all quite streamlined at Stansted, just make sure you check-in and print your boarding pass before you get there! Can be a bit slower if your checking in hold bags. Oh and obey the rules re hand luggage or they'll make you put it in the hold and charge you £££'s
Can't remember if Ryan air use the transit, some gates do some don't, anyway it's a very short trip. What will happen is there will be a mob of people all around the gate, the early boarders, who have paid a premium, will get on first, then the scrum down begins as everyone piles on, there will be an argument or two with the staff over cabin luggage as people get knocked back, eventually you'll get on and hopefully there will be room for you to sit next to each other, your bag may end up at the opposite end of the plane!
Once on board you will be subjected to the ugliest, rudest flight attendants you'll ever meet, the PA will be too loud for you to get any rest and they will be trying to flog you drinks and food for most of the flight, don't you dared try and take a Ryanair magazine home with you!
Good luck!

I use Stanstead every week have done for the last two years. Official Car Parks to terminal average about 20 mins from arrival to terminal, security averages about 15 mins and gate time can be anywhere from 6 to 20 mins, so average is about 15 mins as well. You can buy priority boarding while there if you can see the flight is busy, all depends on where your going and time, some flights I have been on have only had 30 people on at times, but overhead locker space can be challenging on other more busier flights. Ryanair and Easyjet IMHO service overall on shorthall flights compare easily with BA and Lufthansa who I would have to pay 60% more on price.
Only downside with Stanstead is coming home and going through immigration, never enough desks open and the self service passport chip booths tend to be a bit hit and miss if working. Always seems as if 10 flights all arrive at same time. Just try not to stand in a queue where someone looks like an obvious terrorist if you know what I mean. Have a enjoyable flight and holiday?.

and they will play an annoying trumpet tune to mark your arrival!
Stansted security can get busy from time to time, so head straight there after checkin and then probably best to head almost straight to the gate. As said, time to the gate varies, depending if you have to walk of get the train thingy. Its not that long though, from the departure lounge, probably only 10 mins.

Airside at Stansted is woefully small compared to the number of passengers so finding a seat or grabbing a quick bit or beer can be a challenge. If your gate requires the transit train, then leave plenty of time as it can be a bit of bun fight getting on if busy - though they are only about 4 mins apart.
I think I'm the only person on this planet who has no problems with Ryanair whatsoever. Fly with them quite a few times a year. Never found staff any worse or better than you get on the major carriers, rarely been late....seats could be a bit more comfy but it usually costs me more to park my car at the airport than it does to get where I'm going so you pays your money....!
Enjoy the trip!

Ryanair flights usually depart from the gates at the east end of the airport and don't use the transit. Allow 10 mins or so to walk from the departure lounge. Depends how busy the airport is but expect huge ques and general chaos if you have baggage to check in and an equally long que to clear security.
Make sure your hand luggage is strictly within the measurements that Ryanair stipulate, they are notorious for refusing your hand luggage and charging you to put it in the hold.
The fan fair when you arrive is cringe worthy and take your own food on board as the majority of the sandwiches etc were sold out on my flights.
