Anyone been recently ? Planning a trip by ferry to Bilbao and driving down. Need advice on if it's best to book an apartment and buy tickets for the theme park or simply book into one of their hotels inclusive of tickets.

We went here quite a few years ago but recently looked in to going again as we really like theme parks but found it to be extremely overpriced. Now I must admit we would have been flying over but it was working out to be only £100 cheaper than going to Orlando for a week, and having been to both places I know where my money would be going.

Thanks for the heads up. Prices looked quite steep at odds with the current Euro crisis. May put this on hold as we've already planned to take the kids to Florida next year.

No problem, my son was there last month during a school trip to Barcelona and while he said it was good he said it wasn't a theme park that you could do over and over again like those in Orlando so after one trip you may find yourself looking for other things to do and from memory Salou is not a perticularly nice place so other activities may b e hard to find.

We went at the end of May, stayed three nights/four park days in Hotel Caribe, £470 for two adults and two children. We went Tues-Fri. The price sky rockets if you stay over a weekend and in the school holidays. Didn't find we'd run out of things to do and much, much preferred it to Euro Disney (the Hotel was head and shoulders above Euro Disney (I've stayed in the Sequoia Lodge and the Cheyenne), the park itself better run and not a total rip off with gifts and food etc.) We all enjoyed it, I almost hated Euro Disney. Nothing beats Florida for theme parks though and if your going there next year, save you dosh for then.

My favourite park in the world .
Stay at the port adventura hotel right by the park and you can watch the fireworks from the hotel , the suites are worth the extra book direct from the hotel website.
We have been 4 times we were guests at the hotel launch and went back twice out kids loved it the pools are great at the hotel kids club was good too.
In the park they probably have new rides since we were last there but dragon khan and the condor are amazing stampede roller coaster was really good fun and I could spend all day on the bumper cars .
In the park the mexican reataurant was good as was the chinese and dont miss the Torres bar/shop in the walkthrough from the hotel we would have dinner early stroll through there enjoy a bottle of Rioja then let the kids do the favourite rides every evening till dusk.
The water park was good too and used to be included out of main season good for a day or 2 .
Cant wait for our new Baby to be old enough to go back again!
