Recommend me a holiday please?

Budget up to £500 pp for either 7 or 10 nights. First week in September this year & must be somewhere fairly warm still. Love Greece & have done it 4 times so open to that again. Don't want an 18-30 style holiday, we prefer somewhere quiet & not into big 1000 room hotels. Self catering is fine.
Please help.

The brand new Lindos Blu hotel is Rhodes is superb. Can either do it seperately, but I believe Thomson now have this in their A La Carte brochure also.

Is the weather still warm in October (early part)?
Go to Mallorca and rent an apartment on the Marina D'Or III with shared pool at cala Egos. Mallorca is utterly pregnant with things to do and see. It's hugely under-rated. Just avoid the places like Alcudia and Magaluf (if the latter is on Mallorca, my brain hurts..).
We've done Cyprus, All over Spain and the Canaries and Mallorca is still top. Other than that, have a look in Almeria in Southern Spain around Mojacar and the Cabo de Gata national park.
I find the weather tends to turn around October and we had a Mallorcan holiday last September which was sunny and beach-fit bar one day where it rained all day.

Its a bit harsh saying Alcudia is like Maggers. Granted its a bit on the touristy side, but if you stick to the Albufera area (towards C'an Pictfort) then you lose most of the brits abroad and have some stunning beaches. Especially the Albufera Playa hotel / Parc Natural hotel. We've done Cyprus, All over Spain and the Canaries and Mallorca is still top. I find Alcudia like a row of faceless buildings and I don't like the big long beach, just not me. It's more like mainland Spain. I far prefer the south with it's multitude of smaller coves and Coloni St Jordi with it's huge shallow cove, brilliant for kids. I also find Cala d'Or has more variety and entertainment for kids and is a good base for exploring the whole of the island. Turbodiesel1690 said:
Go to Madeira, beautiful place, I believe Easyjet operate to there now so needn't cost a fortune. Huge choice of top quality hotels in Funchal
Agreed - I would say it's not for everyone (very 'sleepy', pebbled beaches, lots of pensioners in their power-walking togs) but for scenery and great food (particularly seafood) for very honest prices it's hard to beat!(Oh and the final approach to the airport is good for scaring the missus )
