Hi fellow travellers, I'm off to Lumut with work in October and thought I might extend my stay by a few days(under a palm tree biggrin ) by popping on the ferry to Pangkor Island. Any tips about that area etc?

Hi,

I went there about 10 years ago. Very nice is was to.
It is almost in the "rainy" season so you may get some good prices, however I found it fairly cheap anyway. Think we flew from KL direct to the Island. There was not all that much to do except sit on a beach.

KL is worth a visit also Malacca and Penang if you have time.

Cheers smile

I'll be flying into KL and then driving to Lumut anyway, the ferries run from there. It does look very nice and as I'm not quite sure when the work stuff finishes will have to wing it the a few days before. "Not much, just a beach" will suit me fine for a few days!

Welcome to PH!

Just get on the next ferry after work and go, it is easy to book small hotels on arrival any where in S E Asia, allow about 30 pound a night for a Ok place. Just use taxi's even a Taxi back to Kl airport for there would only be about 50 pound even at a tourist rate.
I f you have longer PM me and I'll give you some ideas as to where to go
