Chaps, can someone help?

I'm British born and bread, now living in Austria. I have a registered address in the UK.

I also have a registered address here in Austria.

My question is: I would like travel insurance for a trip to Hungary next month- is it possible to do this via a UK travel insurance company? via my UK address? Would there be any complications?

The reason why I do not want to use an Austrian company is because of the language barrier- my German is ok for day-to-day stuff, but not for this.

TIA

ET.

Im not saying all travel insurance companies are the same, and I suppose there may well be a specific broker for your situation - I, however have fallen foul of T&C's in this exact situation.

I work in NL and keep an address both in the UK & NL. 5yrs ago I had almsot every valuable possession stolen from me whilst on holiday in Ibiza.

I was covered under a UK based travel insurance policy at the time.

They threw the whole claim out due to my journey 'not starting in the UK' - ie my outbound flight was from Dusseldorf airport and I had nothing to prove when I had travelled out from the UK.

Absolute shower of bds and it cost me the thick end of €3k.

Advice: Read the T&Cs very very carefully, or just buy one locally. Using Google Translate to decipher a travel insurance website cant be too difficult surely?
As you say, what a shower of bds!

I was afraid of a response like that...ah well..."introduction to Insurance, german addition" here I come...
