I'm going down to London in a few weeks and 'er indoors would like to see a musical. (I may have to sit through Mamma Mia- any other suggestions welcomed)

What's the better option. Buy on line prior to leaving and get a ticket on the day hoping they've been discounted.

Any other 'must do's'

Depending on your age, Rock of Ages is a good laugh - and they will serve beer to your seat.

I find the best availability is to call the theatre box office direct - avoid the ticketmaster ripoffs. A quick google normally find the box office direct numbers, and they have more availability than appears on websites.

We have been to see the lion king, it's very good. Have also heard very good things about jersey boys.

Hide any sharps when watching musicals as they may encourage you to slit your wrists. I went to see We Will Rock You (tickets bought for me as a Queen fan) and what a load of b*ll*x that was. Mamma Mia is going to be ten times worse.

Of that ilk, I imagine Jersey Boys would be worth seeing.

Yeah, a couple of years back my misus's mate kept on at us about going along to Whistle Down the Wind, she just wouldn't have it that we don't like musicals and she just kept on and on. Eventually we agreed to go along.

fking hell, what a nightmare! Loads of kids singing and shouting in American accents, some dreadful 'plot', more singing kids and sickliness. frown

I was just about to slit my wrists and the interval came, so some wine and a few cigarettes got me through the remainder of it all.

Good luck. frown

Go and see One Man Two Guvnors

It's honestly one of the best things I have ever seen.....and it has music in it! They have a skiffle band playing all the way through.

Unfortunately James Corden is no longer in it (he's taken it to Broadway) but it's utterly brilliant...bloody hilarious.

Lion King is fantastic.

We're seeing Warhorse in a fortnight.
