My fianceés family are in Portugal at the moment and seem to be having problems with their hotel.

Her nan has suspected food poisoning and has been vomiting all day.
Her uncle and auntys room was filthy when they turned up, wall sockets hanging out the wall and a couple pieces of furniture broken in the room.
Food has been the same for the past 3 days. No variation in meals.

Her aunty and uncle paid £1800 for the both of them for 2 weeks half board and the travel operator is My Travel, part of Thomas Cook i've read.

Would it be fair/ do they have grounds to ask to be moved to a better hotel? Is that asking a bit too much?
It doesn't really give them much confidence in eating there the next 10-11 days.

Anybody been in the same situation?
