Off there tomorrow to see my brother.

Been once before when the temperature was -38C. Currently it's a balmy 5C.

Not expecting much on the car front (I don't like Subarus particularly) but there will be some fairly ridiculous pick ups too which are always good for a giggle.

Anyone else on here ever been to Fairbanks?

To give you an idea of the life, here's a vid my brother made in his first stint out there.

In a fit of madness, I had wondered about the logistics of renting a car with no mileage limit in Toronto, driving there and back (7756miles - about 8 days with breaks) and then dropping it off again.

Perhaps this is something for The Crack Fox himself??

We went years ago in late summer when we stayed in Nenana. It seemed dull but it was an odd time as we were there when 9/11 occurred. Best thing we did locally was Denali. Local is a relative term in Alaska!

Nope. We rode the bus! Bears everywhere. Watched them fishing for salmon etc.
