From 6 months to 3 is the bad period. Beyond 3, most kids can sit and watch a screen for decent periods of time.
yes totally agree. Even a 4 year old can cope perfectly well with a trans atlantic flight. There's such a huge difference between a 2.5-3 year old and a 4 year old it's untrue!

Looks like it'll be a few years before we head West then frown

Am going to compare Villas and Hotels. Fair point about the Villa though, I'm keen to have separate room if possible so we don't disturb him. It the washing up I don't fancy tongue out

've spent much of the last twenty years travelling, most of that before I had children. No child ever bothered me that I can remember, whereas I can remember plenty of snorers, drunks and loudmouths who have annoyed me over the years.
Seriously? You've never had issue with children? I'd say it happens on at least 50% of long haul flights at some stage in the flight, noise cancelling headphones are your friend as is turning left when you board, but even so it happens a hell of a lot. Short haul? No, not so much.

All booked, we're going to give Tenerife a try. Booked a well reviewed 5* (but not really) hotel and have inquired about a multi-roomed suite so junior can have some peace and so can we.

Roll on December....

Never, but then I usually fly Business Class (so do my kids - I must be mad).

Been flying with kids for the last six years. They've been all over the world. I remember one flight back from Germany when we had a crying session, caused by an ear infection. Otherwise, the only people who've suffered have been us, the parents who have not been able to sleep, eat or watch movies. Selfishness is the attitude of the people who give you a death stare when you board a plane with a child. The funniest of these are the fat fools who proceed to drink too mcuh and snore through the night.

this

would probably add flying with a plane full of Russian tourists you see a whole new dimension to the word selfishness

You sound a bit intolerant and easily upset. I bet you sit there glaring at everyone with children just waiting for them to dare to make a noise. A modern day child catcher but with ANR headset. hehe
