Christmas time weekend away ideas
Discussion
My wife and I went to Prague in December a couple of years ago and it was great. Nice places to eat and drink and lots of culture and sites to take in, Christmas market was on in the square and it was nice for a wander around. Loved sitting outside having a coffee in one of the cafes in the square, big fur rug over us and heaters on. Would head back in a heart beat
Salzburg.
There's a lovely mountain (Gaisberg) walk not far away that'll be above the snowline with some spectacular views. The city is great too. Decent beer cellar, shops restaurants, and Christmas markets.
You could get the ski flights down there, or a top-tip is to fly to Munich, and get a train down, or stay a couple of nights there too.

Tallinn, Estonia. The old town is spectacular and usually under snow around Xmas. Last time I was there stayed at the Merchants House Hotel within the walls of the old town. Spectacular, lots of bars and cafes and fairly cheap I thought compared to other European ccapital cities. Though, they have adopted the Euro since I was last there

THIS!!!!! Went to Tallinn in February it is now my favourite. City. The it really is a fantastic place for a few days. its like mini Prague!!
We stayed in one of the cheap chain hotels (GO Hotel Schnelli), right next to the train station. The was a great base and literally a 2min walk from the city walls.
Great food and awesome coffee and cake houses!!!!
Would go back tomorrow if I wasn't at work all bloody day
