I don't think it is as bad as you make out. I was there with my wife last year and we had zero hassle. I loved Turkey.

I would have thought this was a stereotypical comment but then I spoke to the OH about her business trip to Turkey and she was continually harassed by men asking her "where is your husband" "I will be your husband" etc etc - she was even warned by hotel staff not to speak to any men as it meant they would think she wanted a relationship with them !

So, no confidence issues with Turkish men then.

To the poster who said Turkey is no worse than Spain - BS. None of my sisters ever got any hassle in spain when on their own or with other women with no men present.

I know it sounded like a stereotypical comment but it was based on what my OH told me from when she went with her sister last year. They ended up telling the blokes they were lesbians - puts them right off apparently!!

So, a bit stereotypical perhaps - but no smoke without fire...

The Mrs went to Turkey on her own last year, had zero hassle from the local men.
