Looking for somewhere to go in September

Will be taking ferry to Spain, and looking for somewhere warm which can be driven to within one day

Ideally looking for a quiet quaint village on france not too full of tourists, but with some golden sand nearby

Am going with in-laws who are lovely, but do tend to get stressed so somewhere quiet is always nice

Ideas?

Perpignan is the other end of the Pyrenees, no?

Colliore is jawdroppingly stunning, but a big drive from Santander.

Collioure really is lovely! And some fantastic winding coastal roads round there too - Collioure -> Banyuls -> Cèrberes on the Spanish border = stunning scenery. Also worth a stop at one of the roadside vendors to buy local anchovies and of course, a few bottles of delicious Banyuls wine (it's quite similar to a good Port).
