It looks like a monitor lizard, the only place I've met them is Australia.

If that's what it is and it's Australia is it lizard island in QLD?

Yup

Its Lizard Island.

The view is from the peak that Captain Cook used to work out a way through the barrier reef.

Well worth a visit, the Island is a National Park

It could be Bangkok but there's a distinct lack of smog.

The Four Seasons in Hong Kong, yes. A great hotel, their service is superb. On leaving they organised a car to take me to the airport but the extra touch was a man at the airport meeting the car, taking the luggage, organising the check in and escorting us to security. Great service!

It looks like the plane is too high, but I'll guess at Everest.
