Maldives in June
Discussion
I have been to the Maldives 3 times, twice at the end of Nov/Dec and this year we had 9 days at the end of June. Like you I was a bit dubious as its well into the rainy season. Temperature wise its not much different, about 31-32 degrees but of the 9 days it probably rained about 7. However its not like here where it lashes it down all day. You may get a short sharp 20 minute shower in the afternoon or evening then it clears up very quickly. One day we were out snorkelling and it absolutely chucked it down but we stayed out and by the time we got out of the water it was clear again. In no way did it dampen (sorry for the pun) our enjoyment of the place and I would definitely go in June/July again given the cost saving. Even when we went in Nov it rained but this was mainly during the evening. After I booked this year's holiday around early May and from then I stopped looking at the weather forecast as there is nowt you can do about it.

My misses has said that if the weather is on/off it wouldn't bother her in the slightest because its paradise.
Is there anywhere else similar to the Maldives you can go in June with a good amount of sun?
I think it is very hit and miss. I went last July (still very much in the wet season) and it rained once for 20 mins over the whole week.Is there anywhere else similar to the Maldives you can go in June with a good amount of sun?
The "wet" season in the Maldives is quite misleading for people used to constant rain throughout the day in the UK. We were in the Maldives during wet season, rained on half the days but all of them were short showers and everything dried up very quickly afterwards.
Best place ever for a quiet honeymoon, nothing else quite like it (as long as you're on a decent island). Seychelles, Mauritius, Thailand etc. don't really compare.

Thanks buddy. Best place ever for a quiet honeymoon, nothing else quite like it (as long as you're on a decent island). Seychelles, Mauritius, Thailand etc. don't really compare.
Are the places you list good weather in June?
As stated the wet session means there is a higher risk of rain, however I went for 2 weeks early june a few years back and would definitely go again. You can sit on the beach with a blue sky and see the odd rainy cloud rolling past in the distance, if you unlucky enough to catch one they only last a couple of minutes.
You do see a little more high level cloud but the sun shines and its hot, here is a shot of your average day in paradise
