Nice trip. Did something similar not that long ago. Lovely part of the world. If you end up is Mossel Bay, I've got a great hotel recommendation.
Thanks. She's phenomenally well organised though, so we have everything pre-arranged (apparently. I just need to show up with my spare pants biggrin )

Have done Cape Town to PE. You could do the worlds highest bungee jump as it's from one of the bridges enroute. Simon's town (?) Penguins near Cape Town is good.
I could...biggrin

The penguin beach is on the itinerary. thumbup

If you are going on a safari, how about looking to adopt a lion cub in the reserve that you are going to? Present her with the certificate etc on her birthday and then arrange to meet the actual cub when you are there?

Failing that, a trip to a witch doctor for some FGM?

Jewellery with tanzanite. Only found in Tanzania, Africa, albeit the east.

That's a great one! (The lion one, not the FGM. What is FGM?)

That's a cracking idea, IMHO.

My "joke" suggestions all involved BBCs of some sort so I'll spare you the effort of reading them and leave you with that seed (oops, there's one).

Flying in to Cape Town, then hiring a car and following the 'Garden Route' along the south coast. Think we end up at Port Elisibeth.

Then fly to Johannesburg and then back to Blighty.

What to get before though, who knows!
Storm's River.

Epic bungee jump. I must be honest, last time I was there, if there wasn't a duration of circa 90 mins from paying up to jumping I could well have talked myself into doing it. However 90 mins is too long for me to talk myself out of it hehe

See if she's booked into African Ocean's Manor in Mossel Bay. If so, it's epic. If not, get her to change the reservations wink

It's quite popular in some African states and is really quite abhorrent frown

You do realise, you're closer to East Africa while in the UK than you would be if you flew to SA.

Just saying wink
Yeah but I'm Scottish so more likely to die of a heart attack or food poisoning than Ebola over here.
