Phi Phi Don - Tours / Activities

The next beach down is also a nice little beach - Kata i think ? A nice little bay which has the Royal Phuket Yacht club in it.
I did a tour from Phuket out of Ao Chalong, i paid 1400 THB, they always advertised more but then theres a discount down to 14/1500.
This was 'The Beach' i think, crammed of speed boats and full of Russians, bloody awful.

Lots of people seem quite knowledgeable about Thailand on here, so hopefully someone can help. Going to Thailand in the new year; spending 4 nights on Phi Phi and looking to do a boat tour to all the tourist sights, see "The Beach" and monkey beach etc.
Do not carry any food when you go to Monkey beach they will go for you unless you drop what ever it is Take a long tail boat to PP (the beach) its ok and as far as I know there is only 1 entrance (have been to PP 4 times)
go to the very far point of long beach its beautiful , also take the trek up to the highest point on PP to watch the sunset
Seriously.... contact these people, they are simply wonderful and there are lots and lots of alternatives. Native Tahio husband, English wife. A lovely couple. I was recommended them about 8 years ago. They took me and my daughter and some friends from Krabi over to Bamboo Island. Deserted! Like a robinson crusoe thing. Cooked an amazing meal on an open fire built in an hole in the ground on the beach. Great day out but not the only choice of trip. Make it up yourself!

OP arrange yourself directly a very early morning long tail - with crowds its not worth it
back or front entrance (fnaar fnaar;)) is no more dodgy than the other really
similar sort of stuff that some love http://www.johngray-seacanoe.com/

are you staying on phuket itself as well?

Unfortunately won't be in Krabi, so would be looking for a longtail from Phi Phi for the day. Ideally was to go in to the beach at 'the beach' as I'd have a camera, so don't want to be swimming to a ladder at the back.
I'm going to Phuket after Phi Phi for a few days, see what Patong is like...
Does anyone have any recommendations in Chiang Mai? Best elephant camp?

I have done 5 or 6 different boat trips and the John Grays is by far the best. He is more expensive but worth every penny. Had a very rememberable day. back or front entrance (fnaar fnaar;)) is no more dodgy than the other really
