Who is going skiing and where in 2016

Well in the spirit of PH willy-waving, this was today's effort. Not such a great top speed, but a decent amount of skiing. Not an especially intensive day - started at 10:15, stopped for long lunch, and got the final lift around 3:45.
Ah, but you practically fell of the mountain looking at the angle of that slope.I don't think gliding/falling counts to be honest

id take speed and gradient with a pinch of salt to be honest as ive skied with people where all of us had the app running. Long story short, same run @ same time 3 abreast, nobody pulling ahead etc yet one person managed 5-10mph more than us.
Gradient wise ive seen 65(?) in a chute in Val D but later on people thought it was more like 45.
Its good for clocking up mileage and where youve been etc
and maybe pub bragging rights
65 degrees and you're basically in a semi-controlled fall, if not just falling off off the mountain, NBasically at the limit of skiing for pros only - those who (actually) claim to have done so are just getting their slope estimation wrong or lying. Probably 45 is around the most I've done, and suspect it's similar for a lot of the relatively extreme skiers.Gradient wise ive seen 65(?) in a chute in Val D but later on people thought it was more like 45.

Endomondo seems to be much more accurate than that. I've used it for running, cycling, walking and skiing and have never seen 'silly' numbers. Not sure if that's the app, or if the phone has a good GPS (though it's just a Moto G - I'm not about to risk a good phone on a ski trip having trashed one before).

Personally I now don't care about stats, I'm off to Montgenevre with the family and 40 other friends tomorrow early am for the next week and I can't wait
For someone who doesn't care about stats you're certainly trying to win the biggest group award, Stats are nice to compare sometimes, and get a general idea on improvements you're making. However slope angle is important off-piste for avalanche understanding.

Anyway, roll on Saturday!

Ok if we're going for a bit of tongue in cheek willy waving.
Couple of years ago in Solden, none of that two plank stuff though, boardings the only way forward

Best I could manage this season - had a ball though, and think I'm too old to go for high top speeds now./fearful of coming off.
If I'm honest that was the last season I've really sent it on.
The last couple have been much more sedate as, like you mention the older you get all of a sudden you start thinking what if etc
Last week whilst we were in La Plagne a friend got hit by a skier, dislocated and fractured shoulder. Certainly slows you down a bit.
Awesome week though apart from that, amazing weather and the resort was a pleasant surprise as well.
