honeymoon suggestions close to singapore?
Discussion
Hi guys, I was hoping for some advice.
We were supposed to fly to Bali via Singapore tomorrow at 11am however, as it stands, the airport in Bali is closed due to the volcanic ash.
So.... if, by tomorrow it's not open, we want to know where is a reasonably close flight from Singapore as we don't fancy spending a whole two weeks there (we have a hotel booked in Singapore for the last 3 days).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Doubt there is availability but Nikoi Island is just a ferry and speedboat trip away http://www.nikoi.com

Thailand is the obvious choice...
Why sort of thing were you looking for?
Beach isolation (railay) is lovely and pretty quiet! Phuket/Koh Samui are busier...
The weather is going to be poor in thailand this time of the year unfortunately Why sort of thing were you looking for?

And that island is gorgeus but not available. I bet it cost a fortune too!
The Gilis are lovely, Gili Air was my favourite, but Lombok airport is closed too.
The weather in Thailand differs depending on which coast you're on.
Hoi An in Vietnam is great. Could do the relaxing hotel thing in Da Nang and spend a few days in Hoi An.
Don't write off Singapore to spend more time in either. It's a fantastic place with tons to do. It has a reputation for just being a stopover destination but that's bks.

If you can stretch to it, I'd recommend the Nam Hai hotel: AMAZING rooms and superb service! The weather in Thailand differs depending on which coast you're on.

Poor? It's fking awful. After 20 minutes of lying down I need to have a swim again and then another cocktail
Yes I found later that only certain parts were having bad weather, I've a couple of friends there now and they say it's amazing there.I am certainly not complaining about Bali though, it's amazing! Thailand is certainly on the list though!

You think? I found it to be a Vegas-replica-by-numbers with no charm at all.Kenty said:
Rasa Ria,Kota Kinabalu in Malasian Borneo
Just back from a two week honeymoon in Borneo. Totally exceeded my expectations! I'd pick Kuching over KK personally - it was an unexpected highlight of the trip.Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
