Further to my other thread about hotels, I'm now looking for a good restaurant in central Rome. Doesn't have to be Italian but I guess it would make sense to be smile

Went to Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden a while back which was really nice, so perhaps an equivalent of that?

Prefer a central-ish location but a taxi-ride away is fine as well.

Over to you.......beer

Hi, these three are great, I am Italian so hopefully that counts for something, the first 2 are frequented a lot by the locals but the food is really well executed, the third suggestion is Michelin starred and has become a real favourite.

1. http://armandoalpantheon.it/en/
2. L'Asino d'Oro no website but a Facebook page
3. http://www.metamorfosiroma.it

The 3rd is a ten minute cab ride from the Pantheon.

Enjoy it's an awesome city.

Ended up booking a table at AdHoc in the end - will report back on whether it is any good or not smile

Bit late but see if you can get a table in All'Oro. It is superb.

Avoid Imago at the Hassler - food was okay, but felt it was overpriced and stuffy.

Ai Tre Scalini

Fantastic informal restaurant with a really cool vibe. Staff are brilliant.

Not too late at all! All'Oro now booked instead of AdHoc - the tasting menu looks amazing beer

Not sure why they want/need to know which hotel we are staying in though?

Ah excellent - you won't be disappointed.

Think it's fairly standard to ask for hotel name - I think it's so they can get hold of you to confirm your reservation if you don't call the day of your sitting. Enjoy and please report back!

Just to round this thread off - had dinner in All'Oro last Saturday and it was fabulous. Had the All'Origine tasting menu and every single thing about it was superb. Loved every single course.

We didn't go mad with the vino but we had a couple of extras and the bill was a smidge under €400 for the two of us - never paid that much for a meal before but the whole experience was amazing.

Thanks to 22s for the recommendation beer
