Just noticed this thread.

Off snowboarding to Val Thorens Feb 4th. We aren't getting there until about 1am due to flights etc.

Unfortunately after booking everything we were arranging to pick the key to the apartment up but it's from a shop that's open 8am-8pm!

curse

Hoping that someone from the shop can meet us when we arrive angel
Ask them to change the pick-up point to a nightclub - win/win, beer and key in the same place.

Leaving tonight for a little resort called Obersaxen near Zurich (close to the Films/Laax resort for those who know the area), will be my first time Skiing so hope I keep my limbs intact.

A few of us are going down straight from Zurich after work, I've never heard of the resort 'Obersaxen' to be honest until now, anyone on here been before?

i am ridiculously excited to arrive in courchevel on sunday, the weather forecasts kept predicting snow, then it would disappear...... I thought booking for mid January would be very safe, but last week was starting to get a wee bit concerned. but looks like we couldn't have timed this trip better! dumping down snow all weekend and then into some brighter sunny weather for next week. I cannot wait to get back on the skis on Monday morning!!!

if you can afford to go to Megeve, then it has to be Limo. :-)

My girlfriend doesn't like using public transport ! Not sure we can stretch ;-) to a limo though ! Taxi isn't too bad given there are 3 of us going.

Just checked the web cams, so glad ti see it is snowing there.

when I say public transport, it is a less than 1 year old air con, Wi-Fi luxury coach, nicer than any UK taxi I have been in. would be interested to know the cost of taxi just for info.

Most immobiliers have a key safe which if you ask they'll put your keys in to and give you the code.

Funny enough, last year when she went with her girlfriends, they did go on a private jet. One of the girls husbands own one. They didn't fly to Geneva, think it was Chambery.

Ha, there are a few ladies like this I fear! My wife did the train, St Pancaras to Paris then on to Moutiers 1st Class, strolled out of the station into the waiting Range Rover to be driven up to the chalet in Meribel with her baggage already delivered. (mug driver was me of course smile )

Never been, but a bloke from there just won the World Cup Alpine Combination here in Wengen, so I imagine there'll be a party going on when you arrive smile

Hello everybody! I haven't been to ski resort for 2 years already, but the reason is good, I have a little son)) So, this winter 2017 will be also without skiing, but next year I want to go to Georgia. My friends were there last year and liked it very much!

Anyone heading to PDS today is going to have a lot of fun. Just left my apartment to head home and had to walk through knee deep powder to get to the taxi, and I'm 6'4" so my knees are quite high!

Worst time to be leaving a ski resort especially after having an awful week myself.
