It's Kilpeck church.
We have a winner smile Yes, it's the Sheela na gig, one of the medieval carved corbels at Kilpeck Church, just southwest of Hereford. It's well worth a visit (and the nearby pub is excellent too...)

Over to you...

@Wiccan, The Harewood End link - are you thinking of the 'Disney' dog and hare corbel, or something else?

Excellent crime/mystery novel which feature Kilpeck heavily - "All of a Winters's Night" by Phil Rickman.
I'm at work so does anyone else have anything they'd like to post? Otherwise I'll have to raid my facebook friends photos!

ETA: Facebook has been raided! I suspect this might go quite quickly...

It's one of those landmarks: if you've seen it you remember it.
How about this one? (another scan from a real photo from 10 years ago)

30 hours and not even a guess?

Clue: the river below is a well-regarded white water canoeing stretch.

At first glance I wondered if it was the Ardeche region of southerny France?

In response to the KIlpeck church, the sheela-na-gig is an ancient pagan symbol of fertility and you can find them dotted around churches across the UK, usually above doors but they're quite well hidden these days. I knew the answer straight away but withdrew from the competition cos it was a good one smile

Monmouth? Cannot remember the villages i drive through. One has a pub, hares end or something.
The hare is another symbol of paganism, it's considered a sacred animal, the 3 hares symbol being the most well known.

Closest so far.
Clue2: I can see the river's namesake in the UK from my kitchen window.
