Racking brain makes me wonder if it is near the very famous place where the river disappears next to the road - is it called the Butter Tub or similar? Yours, barking up any old tree...

Close enough, its the other side of the valley - Conistone Dib limestone pavement. You approach it through a narrow dry stream bed carved through the rock.

OK, here we go.

Might be a bit tricky but it's a very large ski area which most European skiers have never heard of.
