No you are not going mad..... I've seen it somewhere if not on here..to do with Queen Victoria IIRC
Probably not many other clock-worthy Diamond Jubilees in 1897.I'm not going to be able to sleep 'cos of this. Curse my sporadic memory.

The original "rules"...The game:
Pick a photo you have taken on your travels to see if anybody can guess where it is. The further off the beaten track the better.
Rules:
- Must be your photo, not nicked off the net.
- The location must be in some way identifiable in the shot (think holiday forum rather than photography forum biggrin)
- Whoever gets it right gets to post one of theirs (or open it up if they want to).
- Wait until the current photo is guessed before adding one.
- When yours is identified, update your post with the answer.
- When guessing, please don't just chuck the photo into an image search tool. There's no fun in that.

Some of us take a narrower view on those original rules - I googed that after my initial guess as I knew I wasn't going to be able to get it (Continental black hole in my knowledge!)and found it in a few seconds, but left it alone. I like the process of deduction that comes with people asking OP questions to narrow it down and find the location, irrespective of who ultimately gets it, but ultimately it's the participant's call within those otiginal rules.anonymous said:

Same here.......... Never been to NZ but I knew 100% I had seen the clocktower (or similar) pic somewhere before and recalled a link to Queen Vic... so the curiosity got the better of me and I goggled it but there was no way I would have posted the answer.......can't see the point if honest. The only time I might use Google is where I know the place (from the picture rather than the clues) but can't quite recall the name, so I just use it to jog my memory: e.g. "That place outside Tetbury. Tree collection." [quick google] "Westonbirt Arboretum". But not if I have no idea (on the clock tower one, I've never been to NZ so not going to google it).
Acceptable?
