Edited, I think I know, but I needed google's help t narrow it down. Went there when I was about 15 but had no idea of the name. We toured all of the beaches that summer and had D-day history lectures from Dad for 3 weeks!

It's along the 'normandy beaches' coastline, and not far from Juno, but it's not at one of the actual beaches

Its between Omaha and Gold beach and covered the sea approaches to both.

I wouldn't have got the name without google, stopped there several years ago on a family tour of the Normandy war graves and then on to Bayeux to oogle and salivate over some 950 year old snot rag.

Not got anything to hand so post another or throw the floor open to someone who has a burning desire to post.
