massive bang for your buck and the food is amazing
+1. Fantastic place although it gets very busy so you may need to book ahead.massive bang for your buck and the food is amazing
As suggested earlier, Dachau is also worth a visit - it is very sobering walking round the place.
If you do stretch to Salzburg its well worth a visit to Hangar 7, Red Bulls collection of planes and cars.

What are you after?
Salzburg's prettier, got the castle, errr... it's better
We went to Innsbruck for the day once - It's a biggish town, but it's like most biggish towns. Salzburg is more memorable (we used to go there fairly often).
If you like the sound of Innsbruck better, though, I won't try and dissuade you too much, it's nice enough.

Definitely this. I worked in Munich for 18 months upto about a year ago. Had a flat between Munich and Saltburg. Salzburg is much nicer than Innsbruck. As said before, Dachau is a must see. If you do nothing else go there. Did I mention Dachau (it really is that good). Garmisch is great as is the train to the summit of Zugspitze, Oberammergau is also pretty. Andechs as mentioned brews some excellent beerSalzburg's prettier, got the castle, errr... it's better
