What is the situation at the minute regarding security etc given the political crazyness that is going on?

Have been lead to believe it may not be the best time to go, but plenty seem to be off on their hols no worries.

Thinking maybe of Borocay over Christmas - want to get away from the cold in Japan for a bit.

Thanks
Think its mainly in the Southern Islands is where the trouble is and these islands dont tend to be on the typical tourists paths.

Was in Borocay 2 weeks ago and no issues there. Apparently, 5 families run the island and there doesnt tend to be any trouble though theres alot of construction work going on at the moment and so new faces are appearing etc - was hanging around with Westerners who have been living on the Island for 6 years (fk knows why as theres not alot to do there but there you go). Though there is a billboard mugshot as you land at Borocay harbour saying these people are wanted for sort of thing.

To be honest, id go now before the Russians and South Koreans carve the island up for themselves. They are upgrading the airport to accept more direct international flights and they currently do not have the infrastructure in place to take planned uptake. You land at the airport then have to get a boat to the Island. So theyll need to upgrade or increase the fleet or build a road bridge between the islands.

Youll probably have more issues with the SK's as they are even ruder than the Russians. And considering they are under the potential Nuclear annihilation cloud, are so fking dopey.

The island is also the land of fake happiness and lady boys

If your planning to go to Boracay, best go soon as its going to be closed to tourist from the end of April in order to clean it up. (only for 6 months though)

Doesnt surprise me tbh as the place is 'heaving' with piss poor infrastructure.
