Just had a week in Lanzarote, Playa Blanca
Discussion
Anyone any plans when they're there.
We're for Mirador Del Rio one of the days and maybe over to Graciosa island this time.
Theres 3 bodegas we want to visit this time too - Stratvs, El Grifo, La Geria. We did Rubicon and Bermejo last time.
Also planning to go to Lagomar one of the days.

We had that 4 years ago, jet2 to there credit were superb, we had only booked the flight with them. While all other airlines were delaying things jet2 arranged the buses and hotels and we were moved to an all inclusive resort in teguise very quickly.
We never bothered with flight compensation because jet2 did everything right. We were on our way on Monday as most of the planes had been diverted to fueteventura or the other islands. If you have plane finder app you can see exactly where they are.

Which airline are you using?
Transavia/KLM.I recommend to avoid!
Based on what I saw in the airport, TUI, Condor and Jet2 were taking the best care of their customers.
TUI are getting a bit of a slating in the UK press over their handling of it at the moment.
Hope you get sorted ok....

We used Jet2 recently for a trip to Tenerife and were pleasantly surprised by the customer facing side of their business (pity about Monarch as Luton is our nearest airport). Good to hear that they are helpful when things go wrong as well.I recommend to avoid!

TUI seemed to be doing ok in the airport yesterday..... For a start they stopped people checking in (so they could keep their luggage) once they knew there was no chance of a flight.... Something which Transavia were not gracious enough to do.
And they had reps, which is something. We still haven't had an official message of any kind yet. Everyone has figured it out via FlightRadar as to what's going on.
No official hotel arranged or vouchers etc offered either, which is against the EU rules and will cost them later.
What is their level of responsibility if the flight cancellation is outside of their control, ie, the weather? And they had reps, which is something. We still haven't had an official message of any kind yet. Everyone has figured it out via FlightRadar as to what's going on.

Yeh I have the apps etc.
I work in the aviation industry, so have a reasonable grasp on how things go.
Our airline have been pathetic, I will be claiming everything possible when we are back.
Good luck with that, they lost my bag with all my cycling gear in it going to Tuscany last year and they were worse than useless!I work in the aviation industry, so have a reasonable grasp on how things go.

Got my bag back the day we were going home and their compensation process is designed to make you give up!
Transavia make Ryanair look like Emirates!
Well its my turn to be in Lanzarote.
Weather has been good, though can be cool when the wind is blowing. Definitely coat weather in the evening times.
Headed out and about around the island and did the Mirador del Rio viewpoint at the north of the island. Very impressive. Overlooks La Graciosa island which i think we will do when we are over at Christmas.
Also went to El Grifo bodega and did their museum tour and wine tasting
But other than that its been mainly relaxing down around the marina
Of (passing) interest, they've sectioned off the area in front of that strip where the Irish Anvil and apparently are extending the port to allow cruise liners to dock. Apparently its goint to take four years to complete.
