Just arrived last night weather a bit overcast today, staying at the Marina end again, very relaxing around there.
Yes, we found it quite cool in the evening. Couldnt have went out without a coat.Just back home last night.
We were in an apartment in the main resort near Chacho Burger, but we walked up to the marina most days.

I couldn't find it though, I guess it's in the middle somewhere

We seem to have made a planning error, didn't realise it was around Easter, place swarming with noisy brats everywhere
Yeah we twigged just before we booked. We were for going this week originally but opted for last week. Very few people about.Chuck a couple of brats in to the marina - make an example of one or two!

LOL. You did indeed. Have you tried the Bubble Mojito? It replaces the sparkling water in a Mojito with Cava.
sounds a bit exotic for us Scots...maybe if it was Irn Bru instead We were being boring, just beer, Cava and Coffee and cake, little gem of a place though with superb cakes in a lovely location.Heard some good stuff about this place and as we are staying about 100 yards from it thought we should give it a try

only opens Mon - Thurs and first table we could get is Monday, looking forward to it

Theres lots of really good restaurants in Playa Blanca off the main tourist strip. We liked this one -

Very old thread but stumbled on it by chance.
I'm currently in Lanzarote. Just to get some sun and cos it's Easter.
We have a villa in Puerto Del Carmen.
It is windy and not a patch on Cyprus IMHO. But some well needed sun. Wife was not impressed by Papayago beach.
Then again we have been spoilt. (Fig tree bay in Cyprus and the Perehntian Islands, Bahamas etc)
Kids don't know any different. But it's Pleasant enough, brits are nice enough and we have a car.
I think if we did not have a car we would go spare.
This has to be the windiest of all the canary Islands? Can't remember Gran Canaria being as windy.
Can't see us coming back to the Canaries anymore though.
Also one thing to note, I was expecting the place to be busier. Its practically dead.

Its particularly windy at the minute - not sure why - we'd not seen it as windy as we did when we were there a couple of weeks ago and we've been over a dozen times. I'm currently in Lanzarote. Just to get some sun and cos it's Easter.

You've picked a "bad week" per se. The busy easter fortnight is just over and the winter season is over now too so its going to be particularly quiet. I've never been a fan of Puerto Del Carmen as a resort but i know a lot of people think its great.
Did you do all the beaches at Papagayo? Theres five or six and i think theres usually something for everyone. I think the first one is a bit st by comparison if thats maybe only as far as you got. We did them by Segway last year and it was nice to do. We're not lie out on the beach sort of people but it seemed popular with those who do.
I think in fairness i'd prefer Fig Tree Bay in Cyprus over Puerto Del Carmen too if it was the summer months, but then it would be wholly out of season in Cyprus at the minute (or just the very start of their season?) - we only go to the Canaries over the winter which i dont think theres the option of in Cyprus.
Yes, we like having the car too when we go. We tend to go out and about every other day around the island when we're there.
Puerto Calero is probably worth a trip if you havent been there already. Quiet but a lovely marina and nice bar restaurants. Depending on the age of your kids theres a Submarine tour you can do from there which is probably worth doing.
The Cesar Manrique Foundation is worth seeing too - depending on your kids ages though.
Timanfaya National Park is good to do - amazing scenery.
Theres the Teguise markets which are popular, but last time we went to Teguise on a non market day. Very quiet but you got more of a feel for the non Tourist Lanzarote which was nice.
All of that depends on your kids ages and how easily bored / impressed they are though

The beach here is really small but much nicer
Sun is shining very nicely today, got to Rancho Texas for opening time this morning (for a while we were the only people there)
Just got back, having a beer and a relax, we’re all knackered! Cracking place though.
Took a pedal bike buggy thing along to Playa Honda yesterday and stopped under the landing path for the airport which was fun. Also took a walk down to Puerto Del Carmen which was a nice few hours!

You'd recommend Rancho Texas then? Mrs Daemon fancied it but we didnt go in March. Just got back, having a beer and a relax, we’re all knackered! Cracking place though.

We go to Playa Blanca every March and enjoy it.....
Thats very similar to how we have spent time, right down to going to the Rubicon Marina, Ice House and JungleBar!We generally hire a villa with a pool and hire a car from the airport like yourselves.
Could you advise (PM?) on where you rent the villa from, Daemon? Cost etc etc? Whereabouts is it? I want to square it all away now so we have something to look forwards to.
