American Airlines- 777 Business Class
Discussion
Perhaps worth mentioning that although the AA 77W planes are far superior to anything BA has to offer in business class (especially the BA A380) the economy seats are not, if I was flying in the back of the plane I'd be booking BA, but seeing as this trip can be done almost as cheap in business class with a day trip to Dublin as you could fly economy in any case, I'm not sure it matters...

We did an ex EU trip flying CDG-LHR (BA A320), LHR-MIA (BA A388), MIA-PAP and PAP-MIA (AA B752) and MIA-LHR (AA B77W) all for £1100 in business.
I only read these threads in the hope of seeing a sentence like this. Thank you. Alfa Papa over.

Nah. Used 'business' instead of the preferred 'J'
There is nothing more cringeworthy than referring to your class of travel by the letter I saw this cracker in another thread the other day, ill remove the name of the guilty party

If flying longhaul 10-12 hours eastbound such as Houston-London or London-Bangkok, you'll "lose" most of your night. Even in J class you're unlikely to sleep enough if you're departing afternoon. To crack the jetlag when you land (providing you're not doing the mentalist straight into work) have a 90 minute power nap around lunchtime but make sure you set an alarm. You'll wake up feeling like st but you'll have instantly cracked the jetlag.
Take your own earplugs when flying.
Take your own food if flying Y class.
Smaller airports are great for quick processing in general but a nightmare if you're delayed or cancelled.
If your company allows it, do a Y class Westbound (daytime) and J class Eastbound (night-time), generally works out the same price as W class.
Download stuff on iPlayer & podcasts in case WiFi restricted.
Don't eat in hotels if you have a choice.

I use American carriers a lot - but flew with BA 777 from Orlando to Gatwick and back again about 3 weeks ago. BA Business Class top'n'tail was pretty crap, in my view - AA's revamped business product is significantly nicer these days.
So i believe, 777 on the way there and a 747 with BA in the Bubble on the way back, Seat 61a Edited by Melman Giraffe on Thursday 26th October 08:26
